Simultaneous Ministry inspections at businesses: Solid and liquid oils to be examined!

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has launched simultaneous inspections across Tekirdağ province regarding solid and liquid oils used for frying in mass consumption establishments.

OFFICIAL CONTROLS ARE BEING CONDUCTED

In order to eliminate risks that may arise in businesses serving in mass consumption areas and to ensure the protection of public health and consumer food safety, official controls regarding oils used for frying are being carried out simultaneously in these businesses between January 24, 2024, and February 2, 2024.

ADMINISTRATIVE SANCTIONS FOR BUSINESSES AND PRODUCTS

During the inspections conducted by the Tekirdağ Provincial and District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry food control teams, samples will be taken from oils that do not comply with the criteria determined by legislation for analysis, and administrative sanctions will be applied to non-compliant businesses and their products.

Provincial Director Oktay Öcal stated that they are striving to keep every step of food under control from farm to fork and to provide reliable food to citizens, noting that it is of great importance for food safety and consumer interests that citizens call the ALO 174 food hotline when they encounter any negative situation regarding food.
