Snapped power line ignites 20,000 hay bales
In Konya, 20,000 hay bales were destroyed in a fire that broke out after a power line near the bales in a vacant lot snapped.
The fire broke out around 17:30 on Rıza Street in the Saraçoğlu neighborhood of the central Karatay district.
According to the information obtained, 20,000 hay bales belonging to M.T., located in a vacant lot on the street, caught fire after coming into contact with power lines that had snapped for reasons yet to be determined.
Upon notification by citizens in the vicinity, fire and police teams were dispatched to the scene. While police teams took security measures on the street, fire crews intervened in the flames.
The fire was brought under control after approximately 1 hour of extinguishing efforts. The fire, which completely affected the hay bales, caused extensive damage.
An investigation into the fire has been launched.
