Snowfall hits Van
Following a hot summer, cooler weather has begun to take effect across Turkey. The first snow of the season has fallen on the high altitudes of the Başkale district in Van.
The heavy rainfall that has been affecting Van for two days has given way to snow in high-altitude settlements. Snow fell in the rural Yolmaçayır neighborhood, located 12 kilometers from the district center. With the first snow of the season, the neighborhood was covered in white. Residents, who woke up to a white blanket, were surprised to see the snow, which usually falls in November and December.
