Snowfall warning for Istanbul! Time announced

Snowfall is expected in Istanbul on Friday and Saturday. According to a statement made by the Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM), the precipitation will start as sleet in the city center and light snow in higher elevations starting from Friday afternoon. Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen stated that light snowfall is expected tomorrow afternoon and that light snowfall will be seen in Istanbul on Saturday.

The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM) has shared its weekly weather forecast report.

In the statement made by AKOM, it was stated that the precipitation will be in the form of sleet in the city center and light snow in higher elevations starting from Friday afternoon, and will turn into light snow starting from Friday evening.

While it was reported that sleet and snowfall in higher areas are expected in the city on Friday, it is estimated that partly cloudy and snowy weather is expected on Saturday.

On the other hand, Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen also shared on his social media account that sleet and light snowfall are expected in Istanbul tomorrow afternoon, and that light snowfall will be seen in Istanbul on Saturday.

Today there is snow in Eastern Anatolia and the east of Central Anatolia. Rain is heavy in the Southeast. There is no precipitation in other regions. There is no change in temperature, the cold continues.
Tomorrow, Friday afternoon, Istanbul will have sleet and light snowfall, and light snowfall will be seen in Istanbul on Saturday.
