Some roads in Ankara to be closed to traffic on Sunday
Some roads in the capital will be closed to traffic due to the 88th Great Atatürk Run and the Great Gaza March and Rally taking place on Sunday.
According to a statement from the Ankara Police Department, due to the Great Gaza March and Rally to be held at Anadolu Square on Sunday, December 24, between 13:30 and 17:00, the section of Anıt Street between Turgut Reis Street and Anadolu Square, as well as all streets and avenues leading to it, will be closed to two-way traffic starting from 23:00 tomorrow, if necessary.
The roads that will be closed from 10:30 on Sunday until the end of the event are as follows:
Anıt Street and all streets and avenues leading to it in both directions; the section of Gençlik Street between the Akdeniz Street intersection and the Anıt Street intersection, and all streets and avenues leading to it in both directions; the section of Dögol Street between Beşevler Junction and Anadolu Square, and all streets and avenues leading to it in both directions; the section of GMK Boulevard between the Strazburg Street intersection and Anadolu Square, and all streets and avenues leading to it in both directions; the side variants connecting Celal Bayar Boulevard to Kazım Karabekir Street and the side variants connecting Kazım Karabekir Street to Celal Bayar Boulevard; the side variants connecting Hipodrom Street to Kazım Karabekir Street and the side variants connecting Kazım Karabekir Street to Hipodrom Street; the side variants connecting Istanbul Street to Kazım Karabekir Street and the side variants connecting Kazım Karabekir Street to Istanbul Street; and the section of Kazım Karabekir Street between Istanbul Street and Anadolu Square will be closed to two-way vehicle traffic.
Additionally, the Anadolu Square Ankaray station will remain closed from 10:30 on Sunday until the end of the event.
Citizens are advised to use public transportation to avoid any inconvenience.
ROADS TO BE CLOSED DUE TO THE RUN
Regarding the celebrations for the 104th anniversary of Atatürk's arrival in Ankara, some roads will also be closed due to the 88th Great Atatürk Run, which will start at Dikmen Keklikpınarı at 10:30 on Sunday and end at Anıttepe Sporpark Street.
Dikmen Street, Cevizlidere Street, Türk Ocağı Street, Akdeniz Street, the start and finish points on the Anıttepe Sporpark Street route, and all streets and avenues leading to them will be closed to vehicle traffic in both directions 15 minutes before the start of the run.
