Statement from İGA, which terminated its contract after the change in administration in Bursa: 'It has absolutely no connection'

The termination of the contract following the shift of the municipality in Bursa from the AKP to the CHP had caused confusion. 

In a statement to Cumhuriyet regarding the matter, İGA expressed the following:

“Regarding the bus services operated between Istanbul Airport and Bursa, the three-year contract signed between İGA and BURULAŞ on 04.04.2021 has expired this year. The decision not to renew the contract was notified on March 19, which is before the election date. This situation has absolutely no connection, near or far, to the local election processes in Bursa.

There is absolutely no question of our passengers experiencing any grievances. İstanbul Seyahat A.Ş., a member of TÜRSAB (Association of Turkish Travel Agencies), will begin its reciprocal services on the Istanbul Airport - Bursa route on 15.04.2024 with the same flight scheduling.

The decision not to renew the contract and to enter into a new agreement with İstanbul Seyahat A.Ş. was realized as a result of the evaluation of commercial and operational factors such as cost and service quality. Mutual benefit and efficiency are essential in such business relationships.
