Statement from Mansur Yavaş regarding the boycott call! 'What needs to be questioned...'

Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel has supported the boycott call for April 2.

Following Özel's support for the boycott, a series of statements came from the ruling party front.

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, meanwhile, has launched an investigation into the boycott calls.

"A BOYCOTT IS NOT A REACTION, IT IS A CRY"

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş supported Özel's call, stating, "A boycott is not a reaction, it is a cry. It is meant to be heard by those who do not want to see."

Yavaş expressed the following in his post:

"A citizen exercising their consumption preference within the constitutional framework is not a crime, but freedom of expression. Citizens decide for themselves what to buy and what not to buy.

What needs to be questioned is not the public's choice, but those who force the public into this choice. A boycott is not a reaction, it is a cry. It is meant to be heard by those who do not want to see."
