Statement from Minister Yerlikaya regarding Diyarbakır and Mardin
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya stated that civil inspectors have been assigned to investigate the incidents where the national anthem was not played and the Turkish flag was removed during the opening of council meetings in Mardin and Diyarbakır.
Minister Yerlikaya's statement is as follows:
"Civil inspectors have been assigned regarding the allegations that the 'National Anthem was not played' at the opening of the Mardin Metropolitan Municipality Council, and that the 'Turkish flag was removed' at the opening of the Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Council."
