Statement from Minister Yerlikaya regarding the vandalism of Ahmet Minguzzi's grave: Suspect is 67 years old

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced that the suspect who vandalized the grave of 15-year-old Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi, who lost his life in a knife attack in Kadıköy, has been apprehended and taken into custody.

The grave of 15-year-old Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi, who died as a result of a knife attack in Istanbul's Kadıköy district, had been vandalized and the surrounding area damaged in Bakırköy.

While the investigation launched ex officio regarding the ransacking of the grave in the cemetery continues, a special team had been formed at the Istanbul Police Department to apprehend the perpetrators.

Teams from the Robbery Bureau of the Public Security Branch, affiliated with the Istanbul Police Department, had conducted an intensive operation with the support of the Istanbul Intelligence Branch.

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced that the suspect named D.A. (67), who vandalized Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi's grave, has been caught.

In his statement, Minister Yerlikaya said, "As a result of the work carried out by our Istanbul Police Department regarding the vandalism of the grave of our child Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi, who lost his life as a result of a knife attack in Istanbul, the 67-year-old suspect named D.A. has been apprehended and taken into custody."
