Statement from the General Directorate of Forestry regarding the fire in Denizli
The General Directorate of Forestry (OGM) announced that the ongoing fire in Denizli is being tackled with 6 helicopters, 25 water tenders, 8 pieces of heavy equipment, and 715 personnel.
In a post shared on the General Directorate of Forestry's social media account, it was stated: "The ongoing fire in Denizli has been tackled throughout the day with 6 helicopters, 25 water tenders, 8 pieces of heavy equipment, and a total of 715 personnel.
Due to the rugged and rocky terrain, ground crews are fighting the fire in many areas by creating firebreaks using hand tools.
In locations where terrain conditions do not allow for ground intervention, aircraft have been working throughout the day, and road-clearing efforts with heavy equipment are continuing without interruption.
The images circulating on social media, which are claimed to be 'of the ongoing fire in Denizli,' have no connection to the fire currently underway in Denizli. The fire does not pose a threat to residential areas at this time."
