Statement from TKH on the dissolution of the terrorist organization PKK: No solution from American peace, no democracy from a regime of tyranny

Following the statements by MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, the "new solution process in the Kurdish issue" entered a new phase in recent days with the dissolution announcement made by the PKK.

In its statement regarding the process, the Communist Movement of Turkey (TKH) noted that while the silencing of weapons and the end of the politics of violence are important, the developments do not correspond to democratization.

The statement, which asserted that the regime of tyranny established by the AKP and MHP would not open a democratic process, said, "It is against the nature of things to expect democracy in the east while there is a dictatorship in the west."

"IT IS VERY DANGEROUS TO OPEN LAUSANNE TO DEBATE"

The statement included the following expressions: "It is very dangerous to open to debate the references to the Treaty of Lausanne, which is accepted as the founding document of the Republic of Turkey, and the 1924 Constitution. Just as we will stand against every step that will trigger the dynamics of Turkey's division, we remind once again that political steps that will be part of imperialism's regional plans will not be in the interest of the region's peoples, as has been proven countless times in the past and present."

The "new solution process in the Kurdish issue," brought to the agenda by MHP Chairman Bahçeli and known to the public as "Terror-Free Turkey," has reached a new stage as of today with the dissolution announcement made by the PKK.

The silencing of weapons and the end of the politics of violence are, of course, important for our country in terms of paving the way for a solution to the Kurdish issue and ending the environment of conflict that has lasted for years.

However, we have previously stated that we do not see the ongoing process as a development that corresponds to democratization in the country. It is clear that a democratic process will not open while the regime of tyranny established by the reactionary AKP and fascist MHP continues. It is against the nature of things to expect democracy in the east while there is a dictatorship in the west.

As the door to the "new solution process," which is being hidden from the public by the AKP, MHP, and DEM Party, is left ajar, the topics of the ongoing bargaining are becoming clear. Targeting the fundamental paradigms of the 1923 Republic, and specifically Lausanne, is significant in terms of clearly revealing a framework far beyond what is presented to the public. Likewise, and in a connected manner, the "agenda" of constitutional change, with references to the period before the 1924 Constitution, has also emerged.

This process also reveals a reality that goes beyond the bargaining of laying down arms in Turkey in exchange for the recognition of a Kurdish state in northern Syria.

The fact that there is not a single reference to imperialism and its regional plans in the dissolution text announced by the PKK shows that there is a preference to hide the fundamental dynamic of the process. This process, which aims for the interests of imperialism and Zionism and the survival of the reactionary regime of tyranny compatible with them, points to the partnership of the AKP-MHP government and Kurdish politics that is compatible with imperialism.

Likewise, the discourse of "democratic society socialism" without confronting capitalism, labor exploitation, and the exploiting classes cannot mean anything more than a slogan that could be written on the walls of the "regime of tyranny." There can be no understanding of socialism that does not position itself against capitalism and imperialism. It should be known that a bourgeois solution in the "Second Republic" regime, which means integration into capitalism and is its political equivalent, cannot be a structural solution to the Kurdish issue as a class problem.

Our party is in favor of the silencing of weapons, joint struggle, the common future of Turkish and Kurdish laborers, and the unity of Turkey. Therefore, it is very dangerous to open to debate the references to the Treaty of Lausanne, which is accepted as the founding document of the Republic of Turkey, and the 1924 Constitution. Just as we will stand against every step that will trigger the dynamics of Turkey's division, we remind once again that political steps that will be part of imperialism's regional plans will not be in the interest of the region's peoples, as has been proven countless times in the past and present.

It is clear that what is aimed at is the establishment of capital's "new collaborationist reactionary regime" with the "Century of Turkey" discourse brought to the agenda by the ruling front. The only realistic option for the unity and liberation of all laborers in our country is for the Republic to be crowned with socialism.
