Statement of suspect who killed his father in Kahramanmaraş revealed

In a family tragedy that occurred in the Boğaziçi neighborhood of the Onikişubat district, Muhammet Ali Köşker, who works as a barber, went to his father Süleyman Köşker's bedroom in the early hours of the morning and slit his throat with a knife. It was learned that his mother was in the restroom at the time. Allegedly, the suspect fled shortly after the incident and was taken to the hospital due to a cut on his own hand; he was taken to the police station following his treatment. Köşker was arrested by the judicial authorities and sent to prison.

CONFESSIONS TO THE PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE

Describing the murder in detail during his interrogation at the prosecutor's office, Muhammet Ali Köşker stated that he had received treatment for substance abuse but had since quit the habit. In his statement to the prosecutor, Köşker said, "He has been cursing at me and bothering me for years. I did not trust him. He always had things going on as if he were involved in secret dealings. I couldn't sleep on the night of the incident; I listened to music. In the early hours of the morning, while everyone was asleep, I took a kitchen knife from the kitchen and went to my father's bedroom. He was sleeping alone in bed; my mother was in the restroom. I jumped on my father and slit his throat with the knife I had in my hand."

DESCRIBING THOSE MOMENTS: "I DON'T REMEMBER"

Köşker expressed what he experienced after the murder with the following words:

"I fled the scene in the shock of the event and went up to the roof to commit suicide. I gave up on suicide, came back down, and checked on my father; I saw that he was still alive. I went out to the street from there, and the police caught me below. Because I had cut my own hand during the incident, they took me to the hospital. I was brought here after my treatment there. Upon seeing that my mother had gone to the restroom, I took a knife from the kitchen and went to Süleyman Köşker. I had no prior thought of killing Süleyman Köşker; I don't remember what came to my mind at that moment that made me do such a thing."
