Statement on 'dissolution' from Sırrı Süreyya Önder's brother! 'He put in a lot of effort'

The 'Terror-Free Turkey' process, which began with the historic call from MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, matured on February 27 with the call for dissolution and disarmament from PKK terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan.

While all eyes were on the statement to come from the PKK following this call, the passing of Sırrı Süreyya Önder, a member of the DEM Party Imralı delegation and one of the facilitators of the process, plunged all of Turkey into deep mourning. Following Önder's death, statements supporting the process came one after another from the DEM Party, the AKP, and the MHP.

The statement everyone was waiting for with curiosity arrived today. The PKK announced its decision to disarm and dissolve.

In the text where it announced the decision, the terrorist organization PKK also commemorated Sırrı Süreyya Önder, stating, "We declare our determination to realize the dreams of our Comrade, Martyr of Peace and Democracy Sırrı Süreyya Önder."

'HIS ENTIRE EFFORT WAS FOR THESE DAYS'

Following the PKK's decision, a statement also came from Sırrı Süreyya Önder's brother, Ali Fuat Önder.

Speaking exclusively to tv100, Ali Fuat Önder said, "I want people to embrace each other without looking at the 'buts,' 'ifs,' or 'hows.'" 

Stating that all of Önder's efforts were for these days, Ali Fuat Önder added, "Unfortunately, he could not see it. I offer my respects to everyone who contributed to this path. A great work has been accomplished for the good of this country. I hope it will continue. We want brotherhood and peace to prevail."
