Statement regarding reports that 'The Ministry will pay for the healthcare expenses of foreign national patients'
The Center for Combating Disinformation (DMM) has announced that claims stating "The Ministry of Health will cover the costs of healthcare services, medication, medical devices, orthotics-prosthetics, and other materials for foreign national outpatients" do not reflect the truth.
In a statement made on its social media account, the Presidency's Directorate of Communications Center for Combating Disinformation stated: "The claim shared by some social media accounts that 'The Ministry of Health will cover the costs of healthcare services, medication, medical devices, orthotics-prosthetics, and other materials for foreign national outpatients' is not true.
Presidential Decree No. 8438, which is the subject of the claim, has no connection to refugees or persons under temporary protection in our country, as portrayed to the public.
The patient group mentioned in the decree covers victims brought to our country from regions experiencing war and disasters, primarily Palestine, under the coordination of our Ministry of Foreign Affairs for humanitarian aid, and whose treatments are being provided.
Do not give credence to baseless claims aimed at manipulating public opinion," the statement said.
