Stern warning from RTÜK for live broadcasts! 'The harshest sanctions will be applied'
RTÜK President Ebubekir Şahin, reacting strongly to insulting remarks directed at President and AKP Chairman Erdoğan and his family, announced that the harshest sanctions will be applied to broadcasters.
Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) President Ebubekir Şahin has reacted to insulting remarks directed at AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his family.

In a statement on his social media account, Şahin pointed out that the rhetoric of some politicians in public squares has recently been reflected on television screens, stating, "Despite the warnings we have issued for days and the administrative fines we have imposed at the maximum level, including program suspensions, we are sadly witnessing the ugly reflections of the statements made by irresponsible politicians."
Reacting to the insulting expressions used regarding President Erdoğan's family and his late mother, Şahin said, "I condemn with hatred the indecent and inhumane rhetoric of a group of ignorant, immoral people and return these words to their owners."
Stating that the broadcasting of insulting expressions under the guise of freedom of the press will not be tolerated, Şahin announced, "The necessary actions will be taken to apply the harshest sanctions at the first Supreme Council meeting against broadcasting organizations that carry these indecent insults and rhetoric to their screens under the pretext of live broadcasting."
