Storm causes difficult moments in Istanbul
The storm, which intensified in the evening hours in Istanbul, is negatively affecting daily life.
The storm is having an impact across the city. In Ortaköy, seawater overflowed as a result of waves caused by the storm. Trash swept to the shore by the waves accumulated on the sidewalk.
Some citizens who came to visit Ortaköy tried to take photos of the waves, ignoring the adverse weather conditions.
Meanwhile, a boat sank off the coast of Kartal Dragos. Giant waves also formed on the Silivri coast. A ship ran aground on the Kazlıçeşme coast.
The crew on the Turkish-flagged ship named "Kadriye Ana" became stranded. Efforts have been launched to rescue those on board.
Operations by the Coast Guard Command, the General Directorate of Coastal Safety, AFAD, the fire department, and police officers are ongoing.
