Storm hits multiple states in the US
According to initial reports, 9 people have lost their lives in a storm affecting the US states of Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, and Georgia. Kentucky Governor Beshear stated that emergency response teams have carried out more than 1,000 rescue operations.
A storm has hit the US states of Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, and Georgia. Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear stated that numerous homes, businesses, and roads were submerged due to flooding caused by the storm, and reported that at least 8 people have lost their lives according to initial findings.
Beshear noted that emergency response teams are currently in the "search and rescue phase" and have conducted more than a thousand rescue operations in less than 24 hours, adding, "Kentucky residents need to be careful. More than 300 roads are closed."
In Georgia, it was reported that 1 person lost their life due to the storm. While material damage has occurred in other states due to the storm, no loss of life has been reported yet.
