Storm warning from Meteorology: Ferry services cancelled

Ferry services to Gökçeada and Bozcaada have been cancelled due to a storm expected to hit Çanakkale tomorrow. The Meteorological Service has issued warnings for a strong storm.

Storm warning from Meteorology: Ferry services cancelled

Due to a storm expected to be effective in Çanakkale tomorrow, scheduled round-trip ferry services on the Kabatepe-Gökçeada and Geyikli-Bozcaada lines have been cancelled.

HAVE FERRY SERVICES BEEN CANCELLED?

According to a statement made by GESTAŞ Deniz Ulaşım AŞ, which provides transportation across the Dardanelles and to the islands, car ferry services on the two aforementioned routes will not be able to operate tomorrow due to adverse weather conditions.

Services on other lines will continue to operate according to the schedule.

STRONG STORM WARNING FROM METEOROLOGY

The General Directorate of Meteorology issued various warnings, particularly for Saturday:

In the Marmara region, the wind is expected to blow from the north and northeast at force 6 to 8 (50-75 km/h) as a storm after noon tomorrow (Saturday, 16.11.2024). The storm is expected to lose its effect during the night hours of the same day (Saturday, 16.11.2024). In the North Aegean, the wind is expected to blow from the north and northeast at force 6 to 8 (50-75 km/h) as a storm, starting from the northern parts in the early hours of tomorrow (Saturday, 16.11.2024) and across the entire region after noon. The storm is expected to lose its effect after noon on Sunday (17.11.2024).
