Street wedding in Gaziantep ends in bloodshed

The incident occurred around 22:30 in the Aydıntepe neighborhood of the Şehitkamil district, when relatives of the bride's ex-husband launched an armed attack on a street wedding being held in the neighborhood.

Five people were injured as a result of the random gunfire opened on the wedding area.

THERE ARE DEAD AND INJURED

Following the incident, great panic broke out at the wedding venue, and upon notification to the 112 Emergency Call Center, numerous police and medical teams were dispatched to the region. The 5 people injured in the armed attack were taken to Şehitkamil State Hospital by local citizens in their private vehicles. Among the injured taken to the hospital, 32-year-old Murat Kara, a father of three, could not be saved despite all interventions and lost his life.

WEDDING HOUSE TURNS INTO A HOUSE OF MOURNING

After the incident, the wedding house suddenly turned into a house of mourning. The crowd gathered for the wedding wept and cried out in grief upon hearing the news of Murat Kara's death. Meanwhile, extensive security measures were taken by police teams at the hospital where the injured are being treated.

ATTACKERS ARE BEING SOUGHT

A large-scale investigation has been launched by the Murder Bureau teams of the Public Security Branch Directorate to apprehend the suspects who fled after carrying out the armed attack.
