In the new resolution process, which was architected by MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli and named 'Terror-Free Turkey' by the government, terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan issued a call for laying down arms and disbanding on February 27.

Following the terrorist leader's call, the DEM Party Imralı Delegation recently visited AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Palace, and subsequently held a meeting with Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç.

The DEM Party front has for some time been making demands for the improvement of terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan's conditions in Imralı. After the laying down of arms, some changes to terrorist leader Öcalan's conditions in Imralı are on the agenda. In particular, steps such as allowing visitors from different segments and providing secretariat support are being evaluated.

It has been learned that regarding the subject, AKP sources stated, "The priority is laying down arms; other demands will be evaluated according to developments."

The DEM Party brought up the proposal of providing sentence reductions for terror convicts in prisons. However, AKP sources emphasized that such demands would not be addressed before the laying down of arms occurs, and shared the following view:
