Striking claim from AKP sources following terrorist leader Öcalan's call: 'Within DEM and the PKK...'

Striking claim from AKP sources following terrorist leader Öcalan's call: 'Within DEM and the PKK...'

The new resolution process, which continues with MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli's call and the meeting between the DEM Party Imralı delegation and terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan, remains on the agenda.

Terrorist leader Öcalan met with the DEM Party Imralı delegation for the third time on February 27. Following this meeting, the delegation read the terrorist leader's call to lay down arms.

Türkiye Gazetesi, known for its proximity to the government, claimed that all possibilities regarding potential provocations both domestically and internationally following the call have been put on the table and that all necessary precautions have been taken.

AKP and high-level security sources commented on the matter, saying, "Iran also knows that if the PKK dissolves, it will have no organization left to use in the region. For this reason, Iran may want to sabotage the process in the coming period by using organization leaders close to it."

"MAZLUM ABDI HAS NO SPECIFIC WEIGHT WITHIN THE ORGANIZATION"

AKP officials also state that although YPG leader Mazlum Abdi claimed that Öcalan's call was not directed at them, all elements of the organization, including the YPG, cannot remain indifferent to this call, adding, "Mazlum Abdi has no specific weight within the organization. Furthermore, there is a new situation here.

The YPG has to reach an agreement with the Syrian administration. The Syrian administration is already determined to end the existence of the YPG; if they do not comply with the call, their existence will be eliminated anyway.

There are currently around 2,000-3,000 armed PKK personnel in Syria. They are already leaving Syria. The YPG's armed wing has no choice but to lay down its arms and join the Syrian army. The new Syrian administration will be a single army.

In this case, the YPG presence in northern Syria will disappear, and there will be no heavy weapons. In such a situation, there will no longer be a security threat to Turkey," they assessed.

Speaking about the text of the call, AKP sources said, "When the subject was brought up to the delegation that visited him, Öcalan personally said, 'Peace first, then solution.' Because he believes he is doing this with a historical mission and that such demands would cast a shadow over this mission."

Claiming that terrorist leader Öcalan has broken the mold, AKP sources assessed, "He is openly saying that the PKK has become meaningless. He is explaining that the PKK's philosophy has collapsed. In the process from now on, the only way out is democracy. There is no autonomy, no other demands. He accepts all of these."
