Striking MIT claim regarding the İmralı meeting!

It was conveyed that the visit to İmralı Island was planned within the framework of a program prepared by the Ministry of Justice and the MIT starting from the weekend. It was learned that the members of parliament first traveled to Istanbul within the schedule created following the official application made on Sunday, and subsequently moved under the escort of MIT personnel.

TRANSPORTATION OF THE MPS TO THE ISLAND WAS CONDUCTED WITH SECRECY

On the day the visit took place, while it was being debated in the public sphere whether AKP Deputy Chairman Hüseyin Yayman, MHP Deputy Chairman Feti Yıldız, and DEM Party Group Deputy Chairman Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit went to the island, it was stated that the journey was not announced for "security reasons." According to the information obtained, the delegation departed from Istanbul to İmralı by helicopter around 11:00.

It was stated that Ministry of Justice officials reached İmralı before the members of parliament, and that they were met by ministry officials after the delegation landed on the island. It was noted that the area where the meeting would take place was organized by the MIT and that all preparations were completed before the visit.

BOTH VIDEO AND MINUTES WERE TAKEN DURING THE MEETING

It was announced that the meeting, which lasted approximately 2 hours and 50 minutes, proceeded largely in a question-and-answer format. It was stated that a video recording was made during the meeting and that detailed minutes were kept by the MIT. It was conveyed that the members of parliament also recorded their personal notes regarding the meeting.

THE DELEGATION RETURNED TO ISTANBUL THE SAME DAY

It was reported that after the visit was completed, the joint delegation returned to Istanbul by helicopter around 16:00. It was learned that after their return, the members of parliament met with Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş to evaluate the topics discussed at the İmralı meeting and the framework of the written statement to be issued.

It was stated that the evaluation of the questions posed to the terrorist Abdullah Öcalan and the responses received would be conducted at the National Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Commission, which is expected to convene today. It was noted that rather than publishing all the minutes regarding the meeting, it might be on the agenda for the members of parliament who went to the island to provide a verbal briefing to the other commission members.

It was noted that the messages given during the meeting, especially regarding the SDG, which is the organization's structure in Syria, are also expected to be conveyed to the commission in detail. It was conveyed that information regarding these topics would be handled specifically at the commission meeting.
