Student found dead in bathroom at KYK dormitory in Samsun

The incident occurred on the 5th floor of Block D at the Münevver Ayaşlı Girls' Dormitory, operated by the Credit and Dormitories Institution (KYK) at the Samsun Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMÜ) Kurupelit Campus.

According to the information obtained, Elif Coşkun (18), a first-year student in the Oral and Dental Health Department at the OMÜ Vocational School of Health Services, was found hanging by a bathrobe cord in the bathroom of the dormitory where she resided on campus.

The incident was reported to the police and medical teams. Medical personnel and police confirmed that Elif Coşkun, who was found hanging, had died at the scene.

Following an investigation by the police and the prosecutor at the scene, the young woman's body was taken to the morgue of the Samsun Training and Research Hospital for an autopsy. Other students staying at the dormitory were deeply saddened upon hearing the news. It was learned that Elif Coşkun was from Çorum. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
