Suicide attempt at Marmaray Aydıntepe station
Train services were disrupted after a person jumped onto the tracks at Marmaray's Aydıntepe station, leading to single-track operations between Tuzla and Pendik.
In Istanbul, a person attempted suicide by jumping onto the tracks at the Aydıntepe station, located within the borders of the Tuzla district on the Marmaray line. Upon noticing the incident, security teams and train drivers at the station initiated emergency procedures.
Following the report, health, fire, and police teams were dispatched to the area. While rescue and investigation efforts are ongoing on the tracks, some platforms at the station have been cordoned off for security reasons.
In a statement issued by Marmaray, it was noted: "Dear Passengers, due to a distressing incident at the Aydıntepe station, single-track operations are being conducted between the Tuzla and Pendik stations, causing delays in #Marmaray train services. We kindly advise our passengers to consider alternative transportation options to avoid being affected by the delays."
