Support for the peace process from Galatasaray

Galatasaray Club President Dursun Özbek announced that they support the peace process known as the "Imralı Process." Emphasizing the unifying power of sports as one of Turkey's largest non-governmental organizations, Özbek stated the following:

"As one of Turkey's largest non-governmental organizations, we will continue to fulfill our responsibilities off the field just as we do with our successes on the field to contribute to the peace process. We will support the development of young people and children by opening sports schools in Anatolia, in Hakkari, and in Cizre," he said.

CLUB'S FINANCIAL SITUATION EVALUATED

Making statements following the opening of the Galatasaray Education and Sports Facility, Özbek shared data regarding the club's financial structure.

Speaking to Şehriban Kıraç from Nefes newspaper, Özbek stated that as of May 31, 2025, Galatasaray is "debt-free." "We have no debts to players, suppliers, athletes, the tax office, or banks. This season is flowing within itself. Galatasaray's sponsorship fees and stadium revenues are extremely high," he said.

"WE HAVE A TOTAL LIABILITY OF 341 MILLION EUROS"

Stating that the club has a total liability of 341 million euros, Özbek expressed that there is a strong revenue potential to offset this.

"As of May 31, we have a liability of 341 million euros. But in return, we also have potential future revenues. Our assets are our players: Osimhen, Icardi, Uğurcan, İlkay... These are all our fixed assets," he said.

"WE ARE ONE OF THE THREE CLUBS WITH POSITIVE EQUITY"

Stating that Galatasaray's equity is positive, Özbek said that with its 13.5 billion lira capital, the club has one of the strongest financial structures in Turkey.

Touching on the club's regular revenue items, Özbek stated that match revenues, sponsorship agreements, and rights obtained from UEFA support the cash flow.

Explaining that 3.2 billion TL in revenue was generated from retail last year and 1.6 billion TL was earned in the first three months of this year, Özbek said, "Approximately 30-35 percent of the revenue comes from retail. Of course, it is necessary to evaluate profitability as well as revenue here."

RIVA, FLORYA, AND KEMERBURGAZ STATEMENT

Stating that real estate and digital investments also contribute to the financial statement, Özbek expressed that the Riva, Florya, Mecidiyeköy, and Kemerburgaz projects hold an important place in the club's long-term growth plan.

Özbek also stated that sports carry a social duty, saying, "We are making investments, we are in a struggle in a sporting sense. But the success we achieve makes the Turkish people happy, and economic difficulties are forgotten at that moment. Football has a socially unifying feature, and this is one of our primary duties."

Finally, reiterating his assessment regarding the Imralı Process, Özbek stated that the club continues its mission of social responsibility, not just sporting success.
