Suspect who harassed female passenger on metro detained
A suspect who harassed a female passenger on the metro in Istanbul has been detained. It was learned that the suspect has a criminal record for two separate counts of sexual abuse.
A suspect who harassed a female passenger on the metro in the Başakşehir district of Istanbul has been apprehended.
Istanbul Police Department teams launched an investigation after Z.B. (21) recorded a male passenger sitting across from her performing obscene acts while traveling on the metro on April 27, and shared the footage on social media.
During the investigation, it was determined that the suspect had gone to a hospital after being beaten by citizens on another metro line.
The suspect, identified as M.G. (55), was detained following a separate harassment incident.
It was learned that the suspect, who was found to have a criminal record for two separate counts of sexual abuse, remains in police custody as processing continues.
