Suspect who martyred police officer turns out to be a career criminal!

Istanbul Büyükçekmece has seen new details emerge regarding the incident in which a police officer was martyred. The details of the criminal record of Muhammet Berke Çorak, the suspect who martyred 5-year police veteran Cihat Ermiş and was revealed to be a career criminal, are shocking. It was learned that the police, having arrived at the scene following a report, knocked on the door and shouted, 'Open up, police!' When the door did not open, the police teams, fearing that something had happened to the suspect, had the site attendant open the door with a key card, at which point they were attacked.

The incident occurred around 02:30 last night in the Murat Çeşme neighborhood of Büyükçekmece. According to allegations, the police received a report that 2 people on a motorcycle were firing shots into the air on the street. The teams evaluating the report went to the address in question but could not find the motorcyclists.

SECOND REPORT RECEIVED

While the teams were searching the area, another report came in to the police. The caller asked for help, stating that bullets had hit the walls of their home. Upon this, the teams investigating the scene went to the apartment from which the report was made. The door was not opened to the teams who rang the bell of the apartment with bullet marks on its walls. The teams called the number that made the report, but no one answered.

FIRED FROM INSIDE

The teams then wanted to open the apartment door and enter, but at that moment, shots were fired from inside toward the teams. The bullet fired from the weapon of Muhammet Çorak, who was in the house, hit police officer Cihat Ermiş in the chest. Seriously injured, Ermiş was taken to Mimarsinan State Hospital. Despite all interventions there, Ermiş could not be saved and was martyred. Çorak, who was taken into custody after the incident, said in his initial statement that he had enemies and that he fired at the people who opened the door, thinking he was being attacked after bullets hit his home.

It is alleged that the suspect, whose processing continues at the Public Security Branch Directorate's Murder Bureau, said in the report he made to the police, "My rival named S.B. fired at my residence." Upon this, the teams that went to the scene spoke with the residents of the apartment, who said that 2 individuals on a motorcycle had arrived, climbed the site's wall, and then fired toward the residence where the suspect was located before fleeing.

POLICE WARNED “OPEN THE DOOR, POLICE”

Following this information, one of the teams went to the house where Muhammet Çorak was located. One of the police officers repeatedly warned, "Open the door, police." However, the door would not open. Thinking that something had happened to Muhammet Çorak, the site attendant who was with the police opened the door with his card. Just as they were about to enter, 2 shots were fired. Cihat Ermiş was shot in the chest. He was martyred at the hospital.

DRUGS FOUND IN SUSPECT'S HOME

At the location where the motorcycle suspects fired at the residence, 4 9mm shell casings were found, and inside the residence at the scene, 2 9mm shell casings, 1 bullet core, and 1 bullet jacket were recovered. It was determined that there were a total of 6 hits on the living room window and the wall of the residence. Additionally, during searches conducted inside the residence with a narcotics dog, a quantity of a drug substance known as Skunk was seized.

39 RECORDS FOUND

While the processing of the detained suspect Muhammet Berke Çorak continues at the Public Security Branch Directorate's Murder Bureau, it was learned that he has 39 records. It was stated that he was recorded as a complainant in 7 of these. It was also revealed in his records that the suspect, a hardened criminal, committed his first crime at the age of 14 by committing theft. The suspect, who has committed 32 separate crimes while only 20 years old, has everything in his records. Here is the criminal file of the suspect who martyred the police officer: 1 count of negligent injury, 12 drug-related offenses, 5 violations of firearms laws, 8 counts of intentional injury, 3 counts of theft, 1 count of threat, 1 count of motor vehicle theft, and 1 count of robbery.
