Suspicious death in İzmir: 944 thousand lira check found on person

The incident occurred during the night on a vacant lot located on Adalet Neighborhood Yüzbaşı İbrahim Hakkı Street. According to the information obtained, citizens who saw a person lying motionless on the lot reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center.

Upon the notification, police and 112 Emergency Health teams were dispatched to the address. The individual, who was determined by medical teams to have slight bleeding on their head, could not be saved despite all efforts at the Ege University Faculty of Medicine Hospital, where they were taken after initial intervention.

During the checks, a check for 944 thousand lira was found on the deceased, and their identity was determined to be Ercan Özdemir. While Özdemir's lifeless body was taken to the İzmir Forensic Medicine Institute morgue following the prosecutor's examination, an investigation has been launched into the suspicious death.
