Syria discussion between Erdoğan and Macron
President and AKP leader Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron. The two leaders discussed global developments and the situation in Syria.

During the meeting, the two leaders discussed global developments as well as the situation in Syria.
It was learned that Erdoğan emphasized the importance of protecting Syria's territorial integrity and sovereignty during the call. Erdoğan also expressed his satisfaction with France's decision to reopen its embassy in Syria.
In addition to these, Erdoğan conveyed that efforts have begun for the return of Syrian refugees to their home country.
He stated to his French counterpart that the international community must cooperate to create sustainable conditions that will allow Syrians to remain there, and to carry out reconstruction and revitalization efforts.
