Tanju Özcan to Erdoğan: Do I have to be a coup plotter to meet with you?

Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan, who has faced the prospect of being expelled from the CHP again following his statements regarding former Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and the party leadership, issued a call to AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan today via a video post on his social media account.

Using striking expressions in his post, Özcan said, "Please do not make me create a new route and walk to Ankara again. Just grant this appointment and be done with it."

Özcan, who has been unable to get a response despite requesting an appointment from President Erdoğan multiple times, used the following expressions in his post:

"DO I ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO BE A COUP PLOTTER TO MEET WITH YOU?"

This is my call to the President! Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, I have requested an appointment from you 73 times and you did not grant it. During this time, you met with everyone you called a murderer, a coup plotter, and a tyrant, but you still did not meet with me.

Do I absolutely have to be a coup plotter to meet with you? Do I have to be affiliated with FETÖ? Or do I have to act as an accomplice to the PKK and its supporters? What is my crime, being a Kemalist and a Turkish Nationalist?

Please do not make me create a new route and walk to Ankara again. Just grant this appointment and be done with it.

HE HAD WALKED FROM BOLU TO ANKARA

After being referred to the High Disciplinary Board with a request for permanent expulsion, Tanju Özcan had carried out a march from Bolu to Ankara under the slogan "Justice and Change." Özcan had concluded his march in front of the CHP Headquarters.
