Taxi driver fined for traffic violations insults police
Inspections were carried out in Kadıköy targeting taxi drivers who refuse passengers or ask about their destination. A taxi driver who was fined during the inspections reacted to the police, saying, 'You're almost going to fine me for having eyebrows above my eyes. May it be forbidden to you.'
Teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Traffic Inspection Branch conducted inspections in Kadıköy following complaints that taxi drivers were refusing short-distance passengers, selecting tourists, or failing to turn on their taximeters.

During the inspections, vehicles were stopped and teams examined the taxi drivers' documents, checking for seatbelt use, taximeter activation, and whether they were refusing passengers.
A taxi driver who was fined for not wearing a seatbelt threw the citation paper on the ground, then got into his vehicle and insulted the police teams.
Within the scope of the inspections, a total of 8,006 TL in fines were issued: 14 people were fined for not wearing seatbelts, one person for a red light violation, and one taxi driver for using a mobile phone while driving.

"JUST TO ISSUE A FINE..."
Taxi driver Serdar Morkoç, who reacted by insulting the police teams, said, "You are doing everything in your power to issue a fine. You're almost going to fine me for having eyebrows above my eyes. May it be forbidden to you. We will go home hungry. I wonder if they will feel at ease when we go home hungry."
