Taxi driver steals phone from person he argued with in traffic in Esenyurt

The incident, which took place on the morning of July 7 in the Koza neighborhood of Esenyurt, reportedly began due to an argument between two drivers in traffic. A driving dispute between the commercial taxi driven by İbrahim Halil R. B. and another driver, D.Ç., escalated quickly. The taxi driver got out of his vehicle, blocked D.Ç.'s path, and a verbal altercation ensued.

As the verbal exchange continued, D.Ç. began recording the events with his mobile phone. Angered by this, the taxi driver forcibly took the phone from D.Ç.'s hand and sped away from the scene in his own vehicle. D.Ç. followed the taxi for approximately one kilometer and managed to retrieve his phone.

Immediately after the incident, D.Ç. went to the police station with the footage he had and filed a complaint. Police teams identified the taxi driver, İbrahim Halil R. B., through a license plate check. An investigation revealed that the driver had prior criminal records for "intentional injury," "threats," and "negligent injury."

After completing the procedures at the police station, the taxi driver was referred to the courthouse. According to the court's decision, the driver's license was suspended for 60 days, and he was issued an administrative fine of 270,000 Turkish Lira. Additionally, the taxi he was operating was banned from traffic for 120 days.
