The average temperature for September across Turkey, which was measured at 20.9 degrees between 1991 and 2020, was recorded at 22.2 degrees this year.

Temperatures in September remained above the 30-year average

According to data from the General Directorate of Meteorology, average temperatures in September were around seasonal norms in the interior parts of the Aegean and Black Sea regions, and throughout the Eastern Anatolia, Southeastern Anatolia, Black Sea, and Central Anatolia regions, while they were above seasonal norms in other parts of the country.

The average temperature for September across Turkey, which was measured at 20.9 degrees between 1991 and 2020, was recorded at 22.2 degrees this September.

Last month, the lowest temperature was measured at minus 1.2 degrees in Sarıkamış, while the highest temperature was measured at 44.3 degrees in Cizre.

TEMPERATURES BY REGION

Marmara Region: The September average was 22.6 degrees, and temperatures remained above seasonal norms. While the lowest temperature in Balıkesir was 10 degrees, the highest was recorded in İpsala at 37.4 degrees.

Aegean Region: The average temperature was 23.6 degrees, with values above normal observed in coastal areas. The lowest temperature was 5.6 degrees in Simav, and the highest temperature was 40.2 degrees in Milas.

Mediterranean Region: The average temperature was 24.9 degrees. Temperatures around Kayseri were above seasonal norms. The lowest temperature was recorded at 1.2 degrees in Kahramanmaraş, and the highest at 39.9 degrees in Köyceğiz.

Central Anatolia Region: The average temperature was 19.8 degrees, remaining close to seasonal norms. The lowest temperature in Kangal was 1.3 degrees, while the highest temperature in Çankırı reached 34.6 degrees.

Black Sea Region: The average temperature was 21.1 degrees, following a trend above seasonal norms. The lowest temperature was measured at 4.9 degrees in Bayburt, and the highest temperature at 37.3 degrees in Amasya.

Eastern Anatolia Region: The average temperature in September was 19.4 degrees. The lowest temperature was recorded at 1.2 degrees in Sarıkamış, and the highest temperature at 37 degrees in the Palu district of Elazığ.

Southeastern Anatolia Region: The average temperature was 26.4 degrees, which is close to seasonal norms. The lowest temperature in Şanlıurfa was 11.6 degrees, while the highest temperature in Cizre was 44.3 degrees.
