Tense moments at police station: First attacked the watchman, then tried to take his weapon!
A 28-year-old individual who arrived at a police station in Kartal as if to file a report attempted to seize a watchman's service weapon. The suspect was neutralized by the intervention of police officers and watchmen and was subsequently transferred to a hospital.
Teams stationed at the Kartal Şehit Selahattin Aslantepe Police Station brought an attempted attack that occurred in the evening hours under control in a short time. On December 11, at approximately 20:15, S.Ö. (28) arrived at the station and stated that he had nowhere to stay, requesting to be placed in a hotel.
While assistance was being provided in response to the individual's request, S.Ö. attempted to seize the service weapon of a bazaar and neighborhood watchman on duty at the police station. Upon noticing the attempt, other watchmen and police officers present at the station intervened immediately.
While the suspect was neutralized in a short time, a judicial process was initiated regarding the incident. S.Ö. was admitted to Erenköy Mental and Nervous Diseases Hospital for necessary treatment.
