Tensions rise at mining workers' protest: Gunshots heard

A notable development has occurred during the hunger strike protest being held by Özşen Madencilik workers in Edirne. It was reported that gunshots were heard on the 26th day of the protest by workers fighting for their rights to wages, overtime, and severance.

UNION ALLEGES ARMED ATTACK

The Independent Mining Workers' Union claimed that the workers and their families, who are continuing their resistance inside the facility, were targeted.

In a statement released by the union, it was stated that three shots were fired at the area where the workers were located. The statement noted that no injuries occurred during the incident.

"Three shots were fired with a gun by the men of boss Bekir Kiremitçi at the workers and their families resisting inside the facility. We have no injuries. We have occupied the mine with the workers and their families. There is no turning back from here; if it means death, then death!"
