Antalya Airport Border Administrative Chief Suat Seyitoğlu stated that a fire broke out in the left engine section of the plane, which was flying from Russia to Antalya, during its landing.

Following the detection of the fire, airport teams intervened rapidly. Seyitoğlu said, "Our teams brought the fire under control in a short time. The 89 passengers and 4 crew members on board were evacuated safely. There were no casualties or injuries in the incident."

RUNWAY CLOSED

Stating that the runway at Antalya Airport was temporarily closed to traffic as a precaution following the fire, Seyitoğlu announced, "We have diverted incoming flights to other airports until the runway returns to normal operations."

According to a statement made by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, it was reported that the runway would remain closed until 03:00 at night and that no landings would be possible.

Authorities stated that an investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
