The bleeding continues: 10 more members resign from the New Welfare Party

In the New Welfare Party's Konya organization, 10 people, including 5 municipal council members, have resigned from their party.

According to the report by Müslüm Evci from Sözcü, following the resignation of 2 mayors from the New Welfare Party's Konya organization, 10 more individuals, including council members from the Karatay, Selçuklu, and Konya Metropolitan Municipalities as well as members of the Provincial Board of Directors, have now announced their resignations from the party.

The following statements were used in the joint declaration made by those who resigned:

“We have tried to fulfill our duties as council members, which we attained with the favor of our people in the March 31, 2024 local elections, in a worthy manner and to represent our party until today. We have listened to the voices of our organizations and our people on every platform and acted accordingly until now.

On the path of service we set out on as council members, we have endeavored to make the voice of our people heard since the day we were elected. We served in the New Welfare Party because we saw politics not as a divisive path, but as a unifying one. However, at the point we have reached, due to the current administration displaying a divisive attitude instead of a unifying one, and due to the necessity we have seen, we, as the New Welfare Party Karatay Municipality, Selçuklu Municipality, and Konya Metropolitan Municipality Council Members and Konya Provincial Board of Directors members, are resigning from the New Welfare Party. In the coming process, we will continue our duties independently while remaining committed to the principles of the National View (Milli Görüş).”
