In his speech, Erdoğan thanked Celal Karatüre, who performs the hymn known for the lyrics "Pilgrims in the Kaaba cry 'Hu', God." Regarding the hymn, he stated, "I extend my congratulations to everyone, from the composer to the performer, who has etched these beautiful hymns into the tongues and hearts of our people, from 7 to 70, and made our country a single voice and a single heart."
Describing the scene during the month of Ramadan as the "true photograph of Turkey," Erdoğan said that mosques are full and the recitations of the Holy Quran are healing for the soul. He expressed that no one should be disturbed by this spiritual atmosphere.
KNOWN FOR THE HYMN
Celal Karatüre, who became known to a wide audience with the hymn "Kâbe’de Hacılar Hû Der Allah," has recently come to the agenda with both his music career and his past social media posts.
It was reported that the artist, who is of Romani descent and lives in Samsun, performed arabesque works in his youth and turned to hymns after attending a religious gathering. It was stated that after being introduced to the bendir (frame drum), he created a repertoire of hymns and shifted to a different path in his musical life.
MENZIL DETAIL SPARKS DEBATE
It is known that some Romani groups who sing hymns have previously come to the agenda with posts linked to the Menzil community. It has been alleged that Celal Karatüre is also part of these circles and has performed various hymns.
The fact that the artist released a hymn recording together with Abdurrahman Önül, who is known to be linked to Menzil, has also become a subject of debate on social media.
NOTABLE CHANGES IN SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS
Following Karatüre's rising popularity, it was observed that changes were made to his social media accounts. It was noted that posts on his Instagram account are limited to 2023 and later, and older content is no longer present.
It was also stated that some past content on his X and YouTube accounts is no longer accessible. On the other hand, it was alleged that older posts on Facebook contained content linked to Menzil.
