'The Israeli threat is approaching our country'

Speaking at the AK Party's Future of Palestine Conference, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said, "We have witnessed together how human rights organizations play the 'three monkeys' when it comes to Palestine, to the oppressed people of Lebanon, and to babies murdered by sniper fire. Many scenes that make humanity ashamed of itself have unfolded before our eyes. Journalists were shot on live broadcast. Hospitals, schools, and churches were hit. They deemed every kind of cruelty acceptable for 2 million people squeezed into a 360-square-kilometer area."

'THE ISRAELI THREAT IS APPROACHING OUR COUNTRY'

Erdoğan stated, "In fact, the victims of Israel's racist policies were not only the Palestinian people. Jews of African descent were also subjected to the same cruelty. There is only one state that is a UN member and is a state in name only, and that is Israel. I asked this truth at the UN General Assembly by showing the map of Israel since 1948. No one came forward to answer it. Instead of answering, the Israeli administration continued to produce new maps. They showed that they would not be content with the occupation of Gaza by attacking Lebanon. We can predict where this expansionism will reach as long as an increasingly spoiled Israel is not stopped. The Israeli threat is approaching our country. We see the risk and are taking every measure."

'IT HAS CHALLENGED THE UN'

Stating that "With its attack on the UN Interim Force in Lebanon, Israel has openly challenged the UN, primarily the Security Council," Erdoğan continued as follows:

"The fact that there is no reaction to this is a situation as grave as the attacks themselves. How will the UN stop the hands reaching out to Gazans and Lebanese? How much longer will the UN Security Council watch our region turn into a bloodbath? I ask again, the Israeli administration is murdering not only thousands of innocents with the brutality it inflicts, but also rules and values. What is dying and being murdered is not just women and children, but the conscience of humanity. As Turkey, we are the ones who voice our objections to this genocide in the loudest way. We are a nation that sees the plight of the Palestinian people as the plight of its own people. Without discriminating against anyone, we have displayed a strong stance on the side of the oppressed against the oppressors. We have stood by our Palestinian brothers and sisters with all our means."
