The 'microphone' in the photo taken at Imrali raises the question: Was the call recorded?
The DEM Party Imrali delegation met with PKK terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan for the third time at the prison on Imrali Island. Following the meeting, the Imrali delegation arrived in Istanbul and shared Ocalan's call with the public. A photo shared during this announcement and the microphone in the frame have raised many questions.
Minutes before the statement, a photo of PKK terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan was released for the first time in 11 years.
In the photo taken at Imrali, a small microphone was seen directly in front of Ocalan, who was sitting in the middle of the table.
The presence of a black 'lapel' type microphone, typically used to record a speaker's voice closely during video recordings, has fueled speculation that a video recording was made.
NO COMMENT FROM DEM PARTY ON THE MICROPHONE
DEM Party officials stated that they could not comment on the allegations regarding a video message.
MINISTER TUNÇ HAD SAID IT WAS 'CONTRARY TO REGULATIONS'
During the days when Ocalan's statement was expected, statements made on behalf of Qandil via the terrorist organization's media outlets included objections that Ocalan's call 'would not be credible unless it was on video.' Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç had previously stated, 'It is not in accordance with our regulations for a convict to communicate from prison via video.'
