In the elections where approximately 61 million voters will cast their ballots, 34 political parties will compete, and more than 206 thousand ballot boxes will be set up across the country.

According to the report on NTV; elections will be held in 81 provinces, 922 districts, 397 towns, and 18 thousand 257 villages. There are 1003 electoral districts where mayors will be elected at the provincial and district levels. For these 1003 seats, a total of 12,725 candidates, 653 of whom are independent, will compete.

49 CANDIDATES IN ISTANBUL

In Istanbul, where the outcome of the local elections is most anticipated, a total of 49 candidates will compete, 22 of whom are from political parties and 27 of whom are independent. There are two districts in Istanbul that broke the record for the number of candidates. In Bakırköy and Sultanbeyli, 25 candidates each will compete for the district mayoralty.

24 CANDIDATES WILL COMPETE IN THE CAPITAL

In Ankara, another city where election results are highly anticipated, a total of 24 candidates will compete. In Çankaya, the largest district of the capital, a total of 28 candidates will compete, 26 of whom are affiliated with parties and 2 of whom are independent. In Altındağ, where 27 candidates are competing, and Keçiören, where 25 candidates are competing, the number of candidates is higher than the number of candidates in the metropolitan municipality, just like in Çankaya.

FEWEST CANDIDATES IN BAYBURT

The city with the fewest candidates in the local elections is Bayburt. Including the city center and its districts, a total of 35 candidates will compete to become mayor. In the city center, a total of 20 candidates are competing, 16 of whom are from parties and 4 of whom are independent. In Bayburt, where approximately 20 thousand people voted in 2019, 20 candidates will compete for the mayoralty. According to these figures, one in every thousand people in the city center will compete to become mayor.

The district with the fewest number of candidates will be the Çanakçı district of Gümüşhane, where a total of 4 candidates, one of whom is independent, will compete.

The provincial and district municipalities of Edirne, Bartın, Bitlis, and Bingöl have only one independent candidate each competing.

26 POLITICAL PARTIES WILL COMPETE IN GAZİANTEP

Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality holds the title of the city where the most parties will compete, with 26 parties fielding candidates.

LONGEST BALLOT IN ISTANBUL

In Istanbul, where 49 candidates will compete, a 97-centimeter ballot awaits voters.

SHORTEST BALLOT IN ŞIRNAK ULUDERE

The shortest ballot will be the 4-centimeter-long ballot printed for the Hilal Town of the Uludere District of Şırnak. Only the AKP candidate is participating in the election in Hilal Town. In other words, the result of the election in the Hilal municipality is already determined.

YENİDEN REFAH PARTY FIELDED THE MOST CANDIDATES

The party that fielded the most candidates in the election is the YRP. Fatih Erbakan's party did not field a candidate in Erzurum, but fielded candidates in 845 of the 922 districts.

CHP will have 886, AKP 858, İYİ Party 800, MHP 474, and DEM 416 candidates competing for the presidency.

The People's Alliance (Cumhur İttifakı) has candidates in all provinces. AKP and MHP are entering the election in alliance in 59 provinces. In 22 provinces, the two parties will compete against each other. In 52 of the 59 provinces where an alliance was formed, AKP candidates will compete, and in 7, MHP candidates will compete.

MHP will enter the election with alliance support in the Mersin and Manisa Metropolitan Municipalities, as well as the city centers of Osmaniye, Kırklareli, Kars, Erzincan, and Bartın. AKP will try to win in 28 metropolitan cities, including Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Adana, and Antalya, with alliance support.

In Istanbul, which has 39 districts, the People's Alliance exists in all districts. AKP fielded candidates in 37 districts, and MHP fielded candidates in 2 districts, such as Beşiktaş and Silivri.
