The question that angered Mustafa Destici: If 600 MPs hire their children in Parliament

During the program, the atmosphere became tense following a question from Kübra Par while discussing how BBP Chairman Mustafa Destici's daughter began her position at the TBMM.

Destici said, "This is the first time I've seen you like this. You are conducting a biased broadcast. I actually had hesitations about coming to this program."

"YOU SAID SHE EARNS 37 THOUSAND 500 TL"

The tension between Destici and Par during the program aired on TV100 drew attention.

Destici first stated, "They handle their own personnel needs according to their own procedures... because the Parliament has a special law. Therefore, they act according to this law.

Without going into detail, let me state that she was hired according to this law and regulation. I shared how much salary she earns yesterday. Along with her payroll." B

Upon this, Kübra Par said, "You said she earns 37 thousand 500 TL, not 100 thousand TL." Destici replied, "I stated that this is what she receives after deductions. I showed her payroll yesterday."

"IF 600 MPS LIKE YOU HIRE THEIR CHILDREN IN PARLIAMENT, HOW WILL THE CHILDREN OF THIS NATION FIND JOBS?"

In the question she directed at Destici, Kübra Par used the following expressions:

"Mr. Mustafa, you are a veteran politician. You are the chairman of a party. If 600 MPs like you hire their children to work in Parliament, saying 'it is the place of national will, let them gain experience here,' how will the children of this nation find jobs? This is my first question. If a politician, if an MP, hires their daughter in Parliament—even if she is very deserving and may have graduated from Turkey's best universities at the top of her class—how can we convince the 3 million unemployed young people in this country that they will find jobs based on their own merit? That is my question."

Destici responded as follows:

"Let me tell you. First of all, you know me, and everyone knows that I am a politician who holds the hand of everyone who is in trouble, stranded, or in need of a job, and I try to help everyone.

If you are saying this: let the daughters of politicians sit at home... Let them not work anywhere. Let's evaluate this as well."

To Destici's words, Par replied, "No, never. What does that have to do with it? Then let every MP hire their daughter in Parliament. Let every mayor hire their children in the municipality where they work. Let's just say, 'How nice, they also have the right to work,' and move on."

"THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I'VE SEEN YOU LIKE THIS"

Upon this, Destici said, "Ms. Kübra, first of all, you are not letting me speak. Secondly, you are not listening. Thirdly, this is the first time I've seen you like this. You are conducting a biased broadcast. I actually had hesitations about coming to this program. I expressed this to my colleagues as well.

But I have no intention of running away from the broadcast. Because my conscience is clear, my head is held high. I said it yesterday, and I say it again, I give everyone the answer they deserve. I have never been the subject of any question I could not answer. Because I have never been involved in any wrongdoing to this day.

You are following it too. I have always told the truth. I have always stood by the poor, the needy, the minimum wage earners, and every segment that has needs or demands. Now I am saying it once more. You listen too, let everyone listen. There are more than 5 thousand personnel. My child was hired using the same procedure, law, and regulation as those personnel. She was not hired with any privilege."

"THERE IS AN UNETHICAL SITUATION"

Kübra Par replied, "There is no issue here regarding your person. Please do not perceive my words as being directed at you personally or at your party.

However, just last week, we criticized CHP MPs for having their relatives hired by CHP Mayors and then saying, 'Shouldn't these young people get jobs?' to the fullest extent.

The issue here is not the party. It is also a pity for your daughter. Is she thinking of resigning?" When she asked this, Destici said, "There is no immoral situation here. There is no unconscionable situation, and there is no illegal situation."

Kübra Par stated, "There is an unethical situation."
