The scandals never end! Anagold has laid off 27 workers
Anagold, the operator of the gold mine in İliç where 9 workers have been trapped under soil for 19 days, has fired 27 workers, citing the disaster as the reason.
In Erzincan's İliç district, on the 19th day since 9 workers were buried under millions of tons of soil containing cyanide and sulfuric acid, Anagold, the operator of the gold mine, has laid off 27 workers.
According to a document shared by journalist İsmail Saymaz on his social media account, Anagold cited "the suspension of the company's mining activities" as the reason for the layoffs.
"WORKERS ARE GATHERING IN İLİÇ SQUARE"
In his message, where he also published the notice sent to a worker, Saymaz stated: "At the gold mine in İliç where 9 workers remain trapped under the landslide, 27 workers were fired today as their contracts were not renewed. The mining disaster was cited as the reason. Other workers will be on leave until April 1. The situation will be evaluated after the elections. Workers are gathering in İliç Square."
