The incident occurred yesterday at approximately 17:10. The attackers, who opened fire from a white vehicle, fled the scene rapidly. Investigations revealed that there were 4 people inside the vehicle used in the attack. It was also determined that the vehicle did not have license plates.

32-year-old Ebru G. was critically injured in the gunfire involving long-barreled weapons and handguns. Examinations at the scene showed that bullets also struck 5 vehicles and a residence during the indiscriminate shooting.

17 PEOPLE DETAINED

During the investigation at the scene, 14 shell casings from long-barreled weapons and 3 9mm shell casings were found. Police, who reviewed all security camera footage along the route where the attackers fled, intensified their efforts in the area where the vehicle was last seen.

Following the attack, the Istanbul Intelligence Branch, Counter-Terrorism Branch, Kucukcekmece District Police Department, and the Homicide Bureau were dispatched to the scene, where they monitored dozens of cameras and blockaded the area where the suspects were located. In operations conducted overnight and today, 17 people, including those who carried out the attack, were detained.

"OUR OPERATIONS ARE CONTINUING"

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, speaking at a press conference at the Istanbul Police Department's Vatan campus, stated, "Immediately after the attack, our security units launched a comprehensive investigation and began conducting operations. 17 individuals were detained in operations carried out at 57 separate addresses. 3 unlicensed weapons were seized. Our operations are continuing."
