They defrauded an elderly woman of 33 million liras for a year with the lie of 'there is a terror investigation'

Despite all warnings, operations continue against gangs that deceive people, especially the elderly, by using baseless claims such as 'there is a terror investigation against you' to take their money.

 News of an operation also came from Denizli.

Teams from the Denizli Police Department's Fraud Bureau launched an operation following a report that an elderly woman living in the Merkezefendi district had been defrauded. 

Believing the fraudsters who posed as prosecutors for a year, the elderly woman lost 33 million liras.

The investigation revealed that the individuals calling the woman claimed that her bank accounts and registered properties had been seized by terrorist organizations, that some were being targeted for seizure and sale, and that the money would be transferred to a terrorist organization.

The suspects asked the elderly woman to sell her registered properties to have her money placed under state protection and to give the funds to a bank account they provided or to plainclothes police officers they would send. For about a year, the woman sold her apartments, buildings, and plots of land in Muğla, Denizli, Antalya, and Burdur at very low prices.

In an operation that lasted approximately 6 months, it was determined that the suspects were in Şanlıurfa, Gaziantep, Hatay, Antalya, Yalova, and Adana. On October 30, teams carried out simultaneous operations in 6 provinces and detained 19 people. 

The suspects, who were brought to Denizli, were referred to the courthouse after their procedures at the police station and were arrested.
