They resigned from the New Welfare Party and joined the AKP
22 people who served as administrators in the Ankara provincial and district organizations of the New Welfare Party (Yeniden Refah Partisi) have joined the AKP. The New Welfare Party announced via its social media account that the individuals in question do not hold any positions within the party.
AKP badges were pinned on individuals who served as administrators at various levels of the Ankara provincial and district organizations and resigned from the New Welfare Party, following an iftar program held at the Altındağ Culture Palace.
Speaking at the program, AKP Secretary General Fatih Şahin said, "They took their stand alongside Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and refused to let the CHP and DEM Party win. I offer them my heartfelt gratitude on behalf of myself and our AK Party for this virtuous decision."
Stating that individuals who have served as administrators in Ankara's districts, as provincial chairs, as provincial administrators, and as general headquarters administrators for the New Welfare Party were among those present this evening, Şahin said, "They are also joining this blessed journey this evening. Welcome home, you have brought joy to our house."
"MAY OUR PATH BE CLEAR TOGETHER"
Expressing his gratitude on behalf of the AKP Headquarters and AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Şahin stated, "You have given us strength; we are stronger with you. May our path be clear together, God willing."
Stating that this behavior and approach reflect the feelings of those who voted for the New Welfare Party last May, Şahin continued his words as follows:
"Wherever you were in the May 2023 elections, you are there again today; you are on the side of the People's Alliance, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and the AK Party. You have taken your stand alongside Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who is fulfilling the dreams of our late Prime Minister Necmettin Erbakan one by one; we thank you very much."
Expressing that it did not sit well with those joining the party to help the CHP win votes, Şahin said that this stance would also find a serious response among New Welfare Party voters.

"WE WILL STRUGGLE SIDE BY SIDE IN THE AK PARTY RANKS"
AKP Ankara Provincial Chairman Hakan Han Özcan also stated that the CHP canceled the rally it was going to hold in Ankara due to the high turnout at the AKP's rally held on Saturday.
Expressing that the blessings of Ramadan show themselves every day, Özcan stated, "Our New Welfare Party provincial and district chairs and general headquarters administrators, with whom we worked together as the People's Alliance in the last elections and with whom we sweated in the field, are here. Hopefully, we will struggle together side by side in the AK Party ranks in our party."
AKP Group Deputy Chairman Leyla Şahin Usta welcomed those who joined their party and reminded those who will serve in the election that every single vote is very important and that they should work accordingly.
AKP Ankara Deputy Fuat Oktay also noted that they exerted all the effort they could during the election period.
Stating that there is no calculation of interest in the People's Alliance, Oktay said, "Today, our New Welfare brothers and sisters are showing the same principled stance and are among us today, believing that all kinds of unity, solidarity, and togetherness should be based on principles rather than interests in the provincial, district, and general headquarters organizations, and based on Turkey's interests. Hopefully, we will walk together side by side again."

YRP: 'INDIVIDUALS WHO DO NOT HOLD POSITIONS IN OUR PARTY'
A denial came from the New Welfare Party regarding the allegations that 23 people serving in the Ankara provincial organizations had resigned. The statement, which indicated that the Ankara Provincial Administration had not resigned, included the following expressions:
"With only hours left until the election, perception operations against our New Welfare Party continue to increase in intensity, as they have for some time. As stated in reports in some well-known media outlets, our Ankara Provincial Administration has not resigned.
The mentioned individuals consist of a number of people whose ties to our party were severed a long time ago and who do not hold any positions in our party.
As of today, the YRP has become Turkey's 3rd largest political party with 520 thousand members, and it is preparing to make a change with moral municipalism by 'exploding' the ballot boxes in the March 31 elections.
Our Ankara provincial administration is fully on duty and is providing full-staff support to the efforts of our Metropolitan Mayoral Candidate Suat Kılıç."
