In the Gebze district of Kocaeli, a truck driver was stabbed in the neck during a struggle with three people who attempted to rob the fuel from his vehicle; he has been taken to the hospital.

3 PEOPLE ROBBED THE DRIVER

According to allegations, three unidentified individuals approached the truck with license plate 07 DCH 44 at the transporters' garage in Barış Neighborhood and attempted to steal the fuel from the vehicle. The truck driver, E.I., was stabbed in the neck during the ensuing struggle after he resisted.

HE TRIED TO ESCAPE WHILE WOUNDED

Managing to get into his vehicle during the scuffle, the driver fled the scene and, while wounded, drove approximately 30 kilometers to a rest area on the Anatolian Highway's Körfez section, where he requested help from the 112 Emergency Call Center.

HE WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL

Upon the report, highway gendarmerie and medical teams were dispatched to the area. The wounded driver was taken to Kocaeli University Research and Application Hospital following initial intervention by medical personnel.

The gendarmerie has launched an investigation to apprehend the suspects.
