Teams from the Istanbul Police Department have uncovered new details in the investigation into the attack on a taxi driver in Eyüpsultan's Karadolap neighborhood, which was captured on the vehicle's dashcam.

According to information obtained from police sources, the commercial taxi driver, G.A. (29), went to a designated location to meet with individuals he had contacted to purchase drugs.

Attack occurred after a dispute

Investigations determined that two suspects, identified as M.Y. (20) and Y.B.K. (19), got into the taxi. It is alleged that a dispute arose between the parties during the drug transaction.

It was determined that the suspects demanded money and subsequently beat the taxi driver. It was learned that the moments during the attack when a rope was placed around the driver's neck and he was punched were captured by the in-vehicle camera.

It was stated that the injured taxi driver is still receiving treatment.

Suspects are being sought

While the investigation into the incident, which initially came to light under allegations of "robbery," continues, it was reported that police teams are continuing their efforts to apprehend M.Y. and Y.B.K., whose identities have been determined.
