Turkish Airlines (THY) has announced that work is underway to resolve issues occurring in its ticketing and reservation systems due to a failure in its information systems.
THY Press Counselor Yahya Üstün stated in a post on social media that disruptions are being experienced in ticketing and reservation processes due to problems in the information systems.
Üstün stated, "Necessary efforts are being made to resolve the issue and ensure our passengers do not suffer any grievances. We apologize for the aforementioned disruption. We will provide you with information as soon as possible."
The latest statement issued by THY included the following:
Dear Passengers,
A technical disruption originating from a globally serving supplier, which has affected various sectors including the aviation industry, has occurred, and as a result of this disruption, some of our flights have been canceled. You can view the status of your flight via the "Flight status" tab in our mobile application. Additional rights have been defined for our passengers whose flights were not canceled due to the disruption experienced. Once the system disruption is resolved, our passengers who meet the following conditions can perform transactions through our sales channels.
Additional rights have been defined for all Turkish Airlines passengers registered on our flights on July 19, 2024, for tickets issued on or before July 19, 2024, provided that they complete their transactions by July 25, 2024 (inclusive).
1) Reservation changes will be made free of charge. Passengers who have not yet performed any transactions and could not attend their flights, even though the flight time has passed, will not suffer any loss of rights.
2) Refund requests:
a) Unused tickets will be refunded without any deductions.
b) For partially used tickets where the journey has not been completed, the refund process for the unused flights of the ticket will be carried out without any deductions.
3) The relevant applications will only be valid for group and individual passengers registered on flights operated by Turkish Airlines.
We will continue to share current developments. Thank you for your understanding.
