Harsh statement on Syria from the TKP! 'Facts cannot be covered up by a flag'

The statement noted that if this course is not stopped, the country will face the bitter consequences of attempting to change borders based on Neo-Ottomanist ambition or Israel-US projects, adding: “We are talking about a process that could turn into the detriment, or even the destruction, of all the peoples living in the region.”

Calling on citizens "not to be deceived by the cries of victory," the TKP emphasized that the alliance of US imperialism, Zionism, and Neo-Ottomanism will bring nothing but disaster to Turkey.

The AKP government has launched a comprehensive operation in Syria together with Israel, the USA, the UK, and France. HTS, which constitutes the main manpower of the operation so far, is classified as a terrorist organization even by Turkey and the USA. The Syrian National Army, another component of the attacks, is also a group recruited from various jihadist factions and placed on the government payroll. Neither peace nor tranquility will come to the region with these and similar structures.

The Communist Party of Turkey has been saying for months that preparations for an attack on Syria were being made under the pretext of the 'Israeli threat,' and has been warning that this would drag the region into new and endless bloody wars. It has been seen once again that the AKP government feels no shame in acting in coordination with Israel.

We fear that if this course is not stopped, we will face the bitter consequences of attempting to change borders based on Neo-Ottomanist ambition or Israel-US projects.

We are talking about a process that could turn into the detriment, or even the destruction, of all the peoples living in the region. States that are in competition with one another continue to add fuel to the fire in line with the interests of their own exploiting classes, not the people. Our citizens should not be deceived by the cries of victory. It should not be forgotten that the alliance of US imperialism, Zionism, and Neo-Ottomanism will bring nothing but disaster to Turkey.

Today is the day to stand against imperialism and Zionism.

Today is the day to raise the demand to withdraw from NATO.

Today is the day to get rid of the nuclear weapons deployed in Turkey.

Today is the day to organize the unity of the working people instead of expecting protection and salvation from 'great powers.'

Today is the day to say no to war.

Today is the day to object to conquests and annexations.”
